What my child drinks is especially important to me, because I have witnessed sugar drinks being introduced to kids at an early age and it causes teeth decay.
Soda is not allowed at all, and juice is limited by the product I buy.
When having juice, it must be sugar-free and natural such as apple juice with no additives.
For my children, water is the go-to. For my son, who’s five years old, I make sure he drinks at least two 16-ounce size cups a day. What I do for a fun activity is each person has their special “Water” cup and at the end of the day, the person who has drunk all of their water gets a sticker. At the end of the week, each person who has gotten a sticker for each day, gets to pick a special treat.
